Event Details: June 29-30
This two-day event at Kidron Mennonite Church and Camp Luz is being coordinated by the Ohio Cluster of the Evana Network as an opportunity for us to connect with Jesus Christ, each other, and the mission of God. Through vibrant worship (Saturday morning, Saturday evening, and Sunday morning with Gil and Marketo Michel), Saturday morning seminars, shared meals, and recreation at Camp Luz on Saturday afternoon we can form and celebrate these connections. {NOTE: We will NOT meet at Dayspring’s building – 6592 Wales Ave. NW, Massillon – for our Sunday worship on June 30. Keynote Speakers: Gil and Marketo Michel
Gil Michel is the founding pastor of That Church Downtown, an inner-city church in South Bend, IN. That Church Downtown was planted in September 2013 to reach an unchurched population and created to be a place of authenticity and transparency and growth for those who seek to know Christ and be known. Preaching the gospel for nearly thirty years, Gil has has a heart to see regional and city-wide revival by way of unity and prayer.
Gil is the co-host of a radio show/podcast called HisStories, which has been featured on the WHME-FM and listened to by people all over the country. HisStories is a podcast/show that highlights testimonies of ordinary people experiencing an extraordinary God.
As an ordained minister, Gil’s missionary work in Ghana, West Africa is considered one of his life’s highlights. Gil is cherished as a valuable member in his community by his community but most importantly by his wife – Marketo, daughter – Jolai, and son – Christian.
